James has over 20 years’ experience in the delivery of major infrastructure projects in Australia and internationally. This experience covers the transport, social infrastructure, waste management, contaminated land, and utility sectors. Key areas of expertise include commercial and contract management, procurement, delivery strategy selection, project management, design management and stakeholder management.
James has led or held key roles in the procurement of over 15 major infrastructure projects including the M2 Upgrade, M5 South West Motorway Widening, The Northern Road Upgrade Stage 3, West Island Line Metro Tunnel (Hong Kong), Batemans Bay Bridge Replacement Project, ANZAC Bridge Upgrade, and Pacific Highway Upgrade at Banora Point. These projects have included Design and Construct, Alliance, Early Contractor Involvement, and Target Cost contracts.
James’ experience includes managing the delivery of major, complex infrastructure projects for clients. James led the Barangaroo Delivery Authority’s project management team during the delivery phase of the $250m Barangaroo Reserve Project. In this role James was responsible for the full scope of project management services including managing the integrated project management team, overseeing the Main Contractor and other contractors, contract management, and cost and program management. The project was highly successful and won the 2016 IPA National Infrastructure Awards, Project of the Year.
James has provided commercial advisory and management services during all stages of major infrastructure projects, including roles as the Principal’s Representative / Superintendent. James has assessed multi-million dollar claims and variations, determined major extension of time claims, and facilitated commercial settlements. James has participated in alternate dispute resolutions processes and contributed to expert reports on construction matters that have been the subject of litigation.
Prior to joining E3 Advisory James provided infrastructure advisory services at Evans and Peck for over 12 years.
