Project Development

Project definition forms the foundation of all subsequent project activity, including delivery strategy, tender documentation and contracts. Getting the project definition right upfront improves certainty of outcome and reduces surprises in the later stages of the project.

Effective delivery of projects

Project
Definition

Inadequate project definition is recognised as a major cause of project failure.

E3 Advisory assists clients to develop projects by identifying and articulating the client’s strategic goals and objectives, performance and operational requirements. With a clear project definition in place, we work with clients to manage a project’s ongoing development including scoping, options analysis, project estimates and preparation of the business case in accordance with the organisation’s investment assurance process.

Unbiased Evaluation

Project Reviews

Clients don’t always like the advice we provide about their poorly performing projects. Often it is no single factor that causes problems to a project, and rarely is it just the contractor’s fault. The size and complexity of today’s infrastructure projects demand that both client and contractor establish and maintain effective leadership, team capability, change control and take a tailored approach for the inevitable uncertainty. The seeds of many major issues in today’s infrastructure projects include offers and acceptance of low bids, unachievable schedules and risks allocated to parties who are unable to bear them.

Our approach to project health checks, distressed project interventions and due diligence is founded on evidence-based analysis and the insights and advice of our most senior Principals with decades of experience in project delivery. We work with our clients to deliver the tough insights and provide targeted, actionable recommendations to support project recovery. We work with clients to implement the recommendations including commercial model changes to re-align the client and contractor to achieving the project objectives.

Expert Costing Experience

Asset
Valuation

We provide asset valuations that play a crucial role in supporting informed investment decision making. Our valuations assist with financial reporting, tax and accounting, and the generation of appropriate pricing to encourage efficient usage and investment in infrastructure. We leverage our expert cost knowledge, extensive valuation experience, and deep infrastructure domain knowledge to undertake robust valuation. Our commercial and engineering expertise allows us to not only review fixed asset registers, but also build them from the ground up utilising as-built drawings. We then provide our clients with the tools to manage their assets in the most commercially efficient way and ensure a cost-effective revaluation in the future.
